Soooo that fire fountain in Montreal was incredible luck. It only catches fire at certain times in the evening (every three hours I think), and we had just arrived on the fly...and BAM. Fire. I think I scared everyone around me I was so excited. XD What an awesome day!
And of course, Korra may be a water bender by birth, but she's really a fire bender at heart with all that passion. Which just makes her that much more awesome!
Character: Korra Series: The Legend of Korra Year Made: 2012 Debuted: Otakon 2012 About: I know Korra's been cosplayed a lot, but I figured she was waaay too awesome to pass up. I had some blue fabric left over from Yolei ages ago and figured: hey, why not? To me she's not your typical female character; she can take care of herself and knows it, and has a huge backbone whilst still having a kind heart, and that's pretty darn inspiring.
Pros: Really comfortable outfit! I love my boots too; they were worth all the trouble I had making them~
Cons: The wig was annoying to put together because I hadn't had time to stub it, and the weight was a bit of an issue. The skin makeup took ages to put on every morning and got everywhere, and I had to touch it up several times a day. Also those sweatpants get hot. @_@
I bought some at Fabricville, which is my local fabric chain where I live. If you want good quality fur you have to buy the expensive good stuff, or it'll shed all over the place! The stuff I got had the length of fur that I wanted, and then I sewed two pieces together to make the strips. I hope you find what you're looking for!
Wow, this is definitely my favorite of the set. You did a great job creating the outfit and pull of the cosplay wonderfully! This pose in front of the fire fountain sets a great tone, too. Truly, you did such a great job!!
What kind of makeup did you use? My friend cosplays halibel from bleach and she has to put makeup on as well, we use three layers of different make up and it holds up really well through the day. if you interested i can give you names.
